End Of The Day

Panels one and two were a joy to color. I never realized how much fun it is to draw and color sunsets. I hope it doesn’t look too much like a sunrise.

And, uh-oh. I wonder what’s wrong in that last panel? Nanna looks concerned.

I have to say I’m enjoying the comic so far. Very whimsical, with Maggot being the innocent trouble maker, and Jared the unwilling but well meaning person dragged into the middle of things. The art style itself is partially realistic and partially cartoony, lending itself to the various flights of fancy inbetween without detracting from the story. Perhaps the only negative comment would be more consistency between images, as the people seem to change slightly between comics, but that is a sign of hand drawn work.

Guy - Thank you for the detailed and thoughtful comment. I really apprecieate it! I really do see what you mean about how the image inconsistency problems. That’s something I am working on. There are some things (such as characters and locations) that have changed long term throughout the comic simply because I have become more comfortable drawing them. As for problems page per page and panel per panel, that’s something I plan on improving. It is an organic process. Though sometimes there are inconsistencies and steps backward, I hope that over the long term, I can say I have tried to evolve and improve as an artist.
